My interest in healthcare technology began with a practical clinical problem: neonatal intensive care generates large volumes of time-sensitive information, but many units still depend on fragmented paper records and manual workflows.
Umbel Care and Neocleus
Founding Umbel Care was driven by a distinct clinical need: to build a platform that clinicians actually wanted to use. The resulting product, Neocleus, was designed from the ground up around neonatal workflows and is used across hospitals in four Indian states.
By focusing on intuitive interfaces and seamless data integration, the system minimises administrative burden and maximises time spent on direct patient care.

Clinical usefulness
Does the tool directly improve a diagnostic or therapeutic outcome? Technology for its own sake is a distraction in a clinical setting.
Workflow fit
Does it respect the existing routines of the practitioner? A system that requires a doctor to break eye contact with a patient is fundamentally flawed.
Sustainable adoption
Is the maintenance and training burden manageable? Long-term success requires intuitive design that minimises onboarding friction for rotating staff.
Smart health reports
Translating complex laboratory data into accessible, actionable health information for both clinicians and patients.
